Santosh Iyer elevated as the CEO & managing director at Mercedes Benz India

Santosh Iyer has been elevated as the CEO & managing director at Mercedes- Benz India. He will be succeeding Martin Schwenk who will be the chief executive officer and the president, effective from January 1, 2023.
Iyer commented on his new position: “Mercedes-Benz is at the transitioning point to an electrified, thrilling future and I feel privileged to navigate the brand, introducing newly evolving and emerging trends thereby continuing to set new benchmarks for the customers we serve. Iyer has been associated with Mercedes-Benz India since 2009. He was serving as the vice president, sales & marketing in the company.. He has over two decades of extensive experience in the Indian automobile industry, working across marketing, retail, sales, corporate affairs and customer service .
Being a key catalyst in the successful execution of newly introduced initiatives such as Parts Trading, MB Tyres, foundation of the Mercedes Benz Academy, he has played an instrumental role in the conceptualization and execution of the business model – ‘Retail of the Future’ and has been spearheading the digital transformation business of Mercedes-Benz, attaining the highest ever recorded online sales penetration, with shares surpassing 15% of total achieved sales. He is an alumnus of Mumbai University and holds an MBA from University of Indianapolis as well as a Masters in Corporate Governance and Compliance from University of Lake Konstanz, Germany.
