Scream your heart out! With a special mid-night screening, PVR INOX

Last night, locals near Citi Mall Andheri reported hearing loud screams. The cause? The Decibel Meter! PVR INOX hosted a special screening of The Evil Dead Rise for horror movie buffs, but with a twist. In order to load the movie on the big screen, viewers had to scream at the top of their lungs. The louder they screamed, the quicker the movie loaded - hence the name 'Decibel Meter'. Evil Dead fans also enjoyed taking pictures with the hyper-realistic prop of the iconic chainsaw from the film, which was installed in the cinema lobby. For those who love bloodcurdling horror but can't handle the adrenaline rush, or for those who feel faint after all the jump scares, PVR INOX comically had an ambulance on standby at the box office just in case.

Commenting on the audience reaction during the midnight screening and the box-office performance of Evil Dead Rise, Gautam Dutta - Co-CEO of PVR INOX Ltd., said, “We are thrilled with the enthusiastic reaction from the audience at the special midnight screening of Evil Dead Rise. I am glad that we were able to engage the horror-loving audiences with some unique innovations, like the Decibel Meter. The cult Evil Dead franchise has already established a great mind-presence in the minds of the Indian audiences.  Given the popularity of the franchise and the dedicated following horror films have in India, we anticipate a positive response from audiences in its first week of release. We are optimistic that Evil Dead Rise will perform well at the box office, considering it’s a popular franchise and has a refreshing plot, keeping the audiences on the edge-of-their-seats.”

The film promises to deliver the same blend of terror, gore, and dark humour that has made the "Evil Dead" franchise a cult classic. Fans of the series can look forward to plenty of blood, guts, and chainsaws as the sister’s battle to save their lives when they accidentally unleash a bloodthirsty demon. The film stars Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland as the leads and Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher in supporting roles. The film is directed and written by Lee Cronin and produced by Rob Tapert, with Warner Bros. Production being the global distributor.
