Security clearance essential for the operating private TV channels- I&B Ministry

The Information and Broadcast ministry has stated that the security clearance is essential for operating the private TV channels and the permit can be annulled if the clearance is denied or withdrawn.

This is stated by I&B Ministry when Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has refused to grant security clearance to the SUN Network’s channels.

In a query raised by a member, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Rathore, said that, “In cases where security clearance is denied/withdrawn, action is taken towards cancellation of permission under the guidelines.”
