Shalini Behl is the new head of What's on India TV

Shalini Behl, recently joined, What's on India as channel head. She has 15 years of experience in a wide range of areas including advertising, media marketing, content acquisition and revenue functions. Here she will report to Atul Phadnis, founder and promoter, What's on India.

In an exclusive chat with Adgully she tells, "I am really excited about my new role and my responsibilities will be taking care of the channel operations, managing the programming, distribution, marketing, on air functions and will supervise the daily routine of the channel."

When asked any plans how she will be taking What's on India ahead, to this Behl replies, "What's on India is a new channel, and keeping trade and consumer perspective in mind with lot of passion we will take this channel ahead. It is India's first TV guidance channel, and we will be guiding and providing as much knowledge to the consumers."

Behl further adds "We will do what is best for the channel. And it's a comeback for me to media with What's on TV as my foundation got strong at both Zee and Sony."

As per media reports, Shalini Behl's earlier part of career was spent at prominent advertising agencies such as - TBWA, DDB Mudra and DraftFCB Ulka, where she worked for brands such as LML, Maruti, NIIT and Dabur. Her liaison with the advertising world lasted for almost 7 years.

In the year 2000 she joined Mudra Communications as account director, then in 2002 she was serving Zee Turner ltd. as head marketing, further in 2004 she joined Zee Tv as AVP Marketing, an year later in 2005 she was working with Sony Entertainment Television as AVP Marketing, then in 2007 joined Reliance Big TV as VP.

Behl further adds, "Whats's on India is a new opportunity, it's a new unique concept in India coming for the first time. I am really excited to be part of this channel and working on the new concept. I hope the concept will do really good and our consumers will support this too."
