Smile Bengaluru' asks for feedback from the city

Early this year, after having announced the expansion of the existing Terminal 1, Bangaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) now announced the launch of a city campaign termed "Smile Bengaluru'.

Meridian Communication has conceptualized this campaign by featuring kids as the main visuals. This was done to encourage citizens, passengers, employees and the larger travel community to give their feedback and anything else that they would like to see at the expanded terminal.

The tagline, "Your airport is expanding. Tell us how you'd like it to be" has swept the city in a big way. One can give the feedback by simply logging onto www.smilebengaluru.com, where ideas and requirements can be posted. The comments will be transparent and viewable by all to the extent that readers can even vote for their favourite idea.

The campaign features children and highlights the fact that that everyone's opinions matter and will be taken into consideration. The idea is simple and to the point and has a great connectivity appeal to it. The idea is communicated well and has received a positive feedback.

Talking exclusively to Adgully, Shenaz Bapooji, Sr. Vice President and Head of Meridian Communication said, "We wanted the campaign to be inclusive in nature and wanted to rope in the larger community. The basic idea was to involve people at a larger level. The brief given was to make it as inclusive as possible. We have featured kids so as to simplify the campaign and make it more endearing. It was great fun to work on this campaign and is fairly visible. We already have more than 650 comments on the website, which clearly indicates the success of the campaign. Also we will be taking the comments and feedback forward with a follow up campaign later."

This kind of campaign is a first in the industry and has appealed to everyone. | By Janees Antoo [janees(at)adgully.com]
