Spot the Real Sachin with Reynolds

If one Sachin Tendulkar spells doom for the opponents, then imagine how his clone would be. That's right, scientists have managed to clone master blaster and now his fans worldwide have to face a new dilemma! Both have identical square cuts & signatures but who is the REAL Sachin Tendulkar?

Tendulkar will be seen in the new TVC, where fans are in a dilemma to identify the original vs the fake. The plot of the TVC revolves around a problem solving approach, appealing to the intellect amongst children. The commercial reveals a high drama involving the creation of Sachin's clone, posing a problem to identify the "real" Sachin.

A young precocious boy, then puts his hands up saying that he can identify the real Sachin, putting both of them to an autograph and a waterproof test. The outcome is simple as the "real" Sachin uses Reynolds Racer Gel Ink that does not smear when in contact with water, while Sachin's clone and his signature dissolve when water is splashed on it.

Conceptualized by Maitri Advertising Works Pvt Ltd, headed by Jack Danis, the commercial leaves a new spin on the waterproof concept. And with Tendulkar as their brand ambassador, GM Pens aims to connect with the youth almost instantly. The TVC has been directed by Lloyd Baptista and produced by Absrtact films, Mumbai.

"We at Reynolds have always attuned our products to the needs of our consumers. Reynolds Racer Gel pen with waterproof ink was launched keeping in mind the need to preserve the writing and to provide a smooth and comfortable writing experience at an affordable price," explains B Karthik, Assistant General Manager Marketing, GM Pens.

Explaining further, Maitri Advertising's P Shridharan says, "Tendulkar is very much popular amongst kids -- it excites a lot of debate in the kids. People love to watch Tendulakr in different roles be it on a cricket field or in a Reynolds racer gel pen ad."

"We have been promoting this water proof property of the racer gel from past four years. We did this ad previously showing that the Racer gel ink doesn't dissolve in water, while other inks fade away. But this time we went a step ahead showing Tendulkar and his duplicate in which, his duplicate dissolves in water," he explains.
