STAR Majha gets Krishi Patrakarita Award

"Sat Barachya Batmya" aired on STAR Majha, is an agricultural based program which focuses on the farmer's interest and guides them with better method of farming. The program was started 3 years back on 22nd June 2007 with the cause of promoting agricultural development in Maharashtra region. Within 3 years, the program has been honored with four state recognitions.

The latest being "Krishi Patrakarita" from Vasantrao Naik agriculture research & rural development foundation of Mumbai. It was given at the hands of Minister for Food and Public Distribution Anil Deshmukh on Maharashtra Krishi Din/Agri Day on 1 July 2010. The earlier awards bestowed being State Govt's "Sheti Mitra"- 2008, PUSAD Vasantrao Naik pratishthan's "Krishi Vahini" -2009, "Krishi Rakshak" ' 2009.

This program not only concentrates on farmers but also speaks to a house wife from Mumbai. The vision is of brining the farmers and the consumer together, which will benefit both the entities in getting the right price of the product and stopping adulteration. With growing interest from Metros, a special section "Majhi Bagh" is included on Sundays, which talks about gardening at home.

The program has also been the steady performer in the Maharashtra getting a Market share of 45%, where as in rest of Maharashtra (except Mumbai) this share reaches to astonishing market share of 64%. (TAM CS 15+, 7:40-8:00 am, Wk 24-Wk27).
