Supriya Shrinate appointed as new Social Media Head by Congress

Supriya Shrinate has been named chairperson of the Congress's communications department's digital and social media  platforms. She takes over as party spokesperson from Rohan Gupta.

"With immediate effect, the Congress president has approved Supriya Shrinate's appointment as chairperson, Social media and digital platforms in the new Communications department," according to a statement from the party.

"Rohan Gupta, the outgoing chairman of the social media department, is recognised by the party for his contributions. With immediate effect, Rohan Gupta has been named the AICC's spokesperson" said the statement. According to the announcement, with the appointment of Jairam Ramesh as general secretary in-charge, the party has renamed its communications division.

Pawan Khera has been named chairman of the communications department's media and publicity committee. The Congress agreed to enhance its communications branch during the Udaipur 'Chintan Shivir' to help increase its people-to-people connections. To enable greater coordination, the communications department will be responsible for social media and digital platforms, as well as the party's communication wings in all states.
