'Taali' is a winner and becomes the most watched series in India!

On August 15, 2023, creators Arjun and Kartk unveiled their ambitious biographical drama 'Taali: Bajaungi Nahi, Bajwaungi' on JioCinema. The six part series powered by the electrifying screen presence of Sushmita Sen and portraying transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant struck an instant chord with viewers and has now become the most watched series in India with over 2.5 Cr viewers in the past two weeks.

Arjun and Kartk for whom this story was a passion project from beginning to end, say, "We are on top of the world because this success is the culmination of a long journey with the story of Shreegauri Sawant. There were many naysayers when we first started exploring the idea. We were asked if the project would have commercial viability and if we would be able to tell this story interestingly but without diluting its gravitas. But here we are now, with Sushmita Sen as Gauri, winning over hearts, opening minds and celebrating an extraordinary life in all its complexity and richness."

Directed by Ravi Jadhav and penned by Kshitij Patwardhan, the show also stars Aishwarya Narkar, Hemangi Kavi, Krutika Deo and Suvrat Joshi and depicts how the process of gender transition, the struggle to access equal rights and a deep maternal instinct transformed Gauri into formidable woman who is as compassionate as she is powerful.

Say Arjun and Kartk, "We are interested in stories that usually don't find their way in mainstream entertainment and after the success of 'Rafuchakkar' and 'Taali', we are determined to continue searching for narratives that are unlike anything the audiences have ever seen or experienced before."
