Travelling brings about an evolution of new thoughts and ideas: Pioneer Property Zone's Anand Sundaram

The concept of globe trotting as a hobby is fast catching up and in present times an ideal way to release stress. Given the vast choice of destinations available, high profiled professionals make it a point to deviate from their stressful routine and venture outdoors. Adventurous and jolly by nature, Anand Sundaram too is no different. His passion for travelling and exploring new places takes him to different parts across the globe which have always held fun–filled and amazing  experiences for him.

In today's edition of Fox Traveller's Diary, Adgully chatted with Anand Sundaram CEO, Pioneer Property Zone originally from the hospitality industry over the years gained significant experience in the retail sector.Armed with a British MBA degree from the University of Durham and a degree from IHM Delhi. His previous stints include Phoenix Market City where he held the post of Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for launching, creating and operating their retail led developments across the country. He has also worked with Inorbit Malls, managing their malls portfolio and handling strategy development for the new assets.

Fox Travellers Diary (FTD): If there is one place you can keep going back to for a holiday, where would it be?

Anand Sundaram (AS): Leh, Ladakh

FTD: Tell us three good things about travelling.

AS: Connect with new places and new people, evolution of new thoughts and ideas and bring back some great memories.

FTD: When you travel, what is a must carry for you?

AS: My DSLR with all lenses and additional chargers for the smart phone

FTD: When and where did your best holiday happen?

AS:  Leh

FTD: As a traveller, what’s your tip for the others?

AS: Enjoy the journey, maximize time spent outside the hotel.

FTD: A colleague/co-worker from your industry with whom you would like to go on a holiday.

AS: No one specific.

FTD: Have you ever been surprised by the taste of food, outside India? Where?

AS: Amazing food in Thailand

FTD: What and where has been your best bazaar bargain so far?

AS:  I leave the shopping to my wife! Rummaging for antiques and memorabilia at Sunday Farmer’s markets in England was fun though

FTD: Which has been the most unique destination that you have  visited. When and why?

AS: Pangong Lake – just unbelievable.

FTD: Tell us an instance of how you have managed to make your  journey fun.

AS: My son and I kicked a stone all the way up a very steep hike – and did not realize when we covered that distance.

FTD: A gourmet gaffe that you would like to share

AS: None

FTD: What has been your worst travel moment? Why?

AS: While travelling alone , I lost my camera bag with a new DSLR,  the lenses and filters – someone, in the blink of an eye, walked away with it.  That was my photography holiday!

FTD: What is the best souvenir you ever bought for anyone?

AS:  Antique Ceramic toy set for my wife.
