Travelxp & Xiaomi partners to offer 4K HDR travel content on Smart TVs

Xiaomi PatchWall users can now enjoy content from the world’s leading travel channel, Travelxp, as the 4K HDR content provider has signed onto the PatchWall interface and will distribute over 1000+ hours of travel content through its PatchWall integration. Travelxp’s 4K HDR travel content, shot in over 90+ countries throughout the world, will now be available to all PatchWall users who will sign up to the Travelxp RED community. Xiaomi’s 7Mn+ users will have access to Travelxp’s global travel content library through the PatchWall launcher on their Xiaomi smart TV sets. They can now discover Travelxp’s unique content programming from Xiaomi’s curated discovery platform PatchWall, and watch popular food shows like Strictly Street and Thali, to global destination features such as Backpack Thailand and Boarding Pass Finland.

Xiaomi has steadily become one of India’s leading TV manufacturers with over 7Mn+ TVs sold in the last 3+ years leading up to September 2021. Since the launch of PatchWall in 2019, Xiaomi has also made it easier for its users to discover content from over 30+ OTTs in India.

Commenting on the launch, Eshwar Nilakantan, Category Lead- TVs, Xiaomi India mentioned, “With the OTT market going strong and the relationship between consumers and services constantly evolving, we at Xiaomi India are focused on making content discovery easier for our customers. With Xiaomi and Redmi TVs, our vision is to provide a unique interface for each user and offer a wide selection with our dedicated focus on building PatchWall.

We have witnessed a striking uptake of 4k content since last year by recording over 1.4cr clicks through PatchWall. By partnering with Travelxp, we are excited to bring a wide variety of 4K travel content to PatchWall users. This collaboration will ensure easy access to content across genres and Travelxp's availability on India's most preferred entertainment devices.”

Travelxp, since it’s launch in 2011, has become the world’s leading travel channel reaching out to over 500mn+ viewers in over 50+ countries. It launched the world’s first 4K HDR Travel OTT through it’s innovative product, Travelxp RED, which is designed as the one stop shop for frequent travelers. Since the launch of RED in May 2021, more than 500,000+ users have engaged with Travelxp’s content and the platform recently crossed over 100,000+ App downloads across all platforms.
“With the launch of Travelxp on PatchWall, we are further enhancing our commitment towards being India's go to destination for quality travel content. Travel lovers all over India can now access the power of our 4K HDR travel library through their Xiaomi Smart TVs. With Xiaomi's push into 4K televisions, our content availability through PatchWall is a huge boost to our ambition of showcasing travel in 4K HDR to the Indian market, and we are excited to announce that at launch, we will be multi-lingual with our entire content library dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Bengali.” said Travelxp CEO, Tanay Chothani.
As the OTT market in India expands to over 1000+ billion dollars, this integration is a further shot in the arm for India’s growing video streaming space. With this integration, Travelxp will further expand the reach and distribution of its OTT product, and Xiaomi will add more 4K HDR content to its PatchWall curation and discovery service. Users can download Travelxp from Mi PatchWall starting 27th January and access the wide variety of travel content at a subscription price of Rs. 999/year.
