Tripurari Sharan, Director General, Doordarshan retires!

Tripurari Sharan who joined Doordarshan, in July 2011  as Director General will be completing his tenure by end of this month and retires. In 2011 he replaced Leeladhar Mandloi, who was the acting DG of the government broadcaster for several months.

A 1985 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Sharan has been secretary and additional secretary in consumer affairs, food and public distribution, food and civil supplies and managing director, Bihar State Finace Corporation. Apart from the above mentioned roles, had also served as director, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

Sharan started his career with Indian Administrative Services as assistant collector and ADM with the Land Revenue Management and District Administration in 1987.There are approximately 20 people who have been listed for the position.
