TV This Week| Colors retains no.2 position, Star Gold tops the chart

According to TAM ratings charts for week 40, while most Hindi GEC’s did not register growth, Colors was the only channel to show growth and thus retained its second spot. Star Plus continued to lead the charts, followed by Colors; ZEE TVcame in at no.3, after which was Life OK at 4th position. SAB TV is at no. 5, while Sony Entertainment Television at no.6 position; new GEC's Sony Pal and Zindagi are at no. 7 and no.8 respectively.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for week 40, 2014 (28th September 2014 to 4th October 2014) for HSM markets, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 40 along with previous week’s figures:

Star Plus tops the chart at no.1 position but showed no growththis week and received 549 GVMs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 593 GVM's recorded last week. Retaining the second spot Colors showed growth this week too and received 433 GVM's as against 431 GVM's last week. Zee TV at no. 3 showed decline in this week as well of 401 GVM’s as compared to 427 last week.

Life OK, at No.4 position showed decline of  299 GVM’s against 307 last week. At no. 5 and no.6 SAB TV and SET showed decline of 254 GVM’s against 262 last week and 234 GVM’s from 247 last week respectively.

New GEC’s, Sony Pal at no.7 showed decline of 23 GVMs as against 26 last week, whereas Zindagi at no.8 too showed no growth as received 20 GVM’s as against last week’s 26GVM’s.

Amongst movie channels Star Gold tops the ratings chart in week 40 with 118550 GVT’s against 82948 GVT’s last week. The channel is riding high on the success of the premier of Salman Khan starrer Kick; it holds the record of airing the highest rated TV premiere of 2014.  MAX at no.2 position received 83361 GVT’s compare to last week’s GVT’s of 85555. Zee Cinema at no.3 grew by 79205 GVT’s against 77309 GVT’s followed by Movies OK at no. 4 with 61213 GVT’s against 61312 GVT’s.
