TV this week: GEC shows affected due to IPL Fever, see decline in TVR

According to the latest TAM data Star Plus has regained its number one spot. After having pushed to the second position last week the channel is at the top again with a Gross Rating Point (GRP) and Channel Share (CS) 334 and 26.5% respectively which is very high compared to its last week's GRP and CS of 261 and 19.7%. Moreover this week Star Plus has five of its shows amongst the top 10 shows across channels. Saathiya Saath Nibhana , Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, Pratigya, Star Parivaar Awards and Navya from Star Plus have made it to the list of the top 10 shows.

With GRP of 249 and a CS of 19.7% Colors is at the number two position this week. Moreover, this week too, Uttaran (TVR- 4.78%), Naa Aana Is Des Meri Laado (TVR 4.31%) and Balika Vadhu (TVR-4.06%)from Colors' wide offering are amongst the top 10 shows and placed at number 4, 6 and 7 respectively.

After being dislodged from its number three position by DD1 last week, Zee TV is at number three again and this time with a GRP and CS of 221 and 17.5% respectively. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta (5.7%) though the number one show across GECs is the only show from the channel to have made it to the list of top 10 shows.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at number four this week has a GRP and CS of 152 and 12.0 respectively. None of the shows from the channel's offering has made it to the top 10 shows' list this week too.

SAB has retained its fifth position and has an increased GRP of 139 and a CS of 11.0%. The channel's show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma is placed at number 10 position with a TVR of 3.75%. Imagine is positioned at number seven with a GRP and CS of 58 and 4.6% respectively.

TAM Sports this week has reported that the first Indian Premier League match between Chennai Super King and Kolkata Knight Riders garnered a TVR of 7.14%. While the match between Deccan Chargers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royal got a TVR of 2.39%, the match between Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Royal Challenge Bangalore gathered a TVR of 4.94%. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
