TV this week: Star plus again on the top: TAM Report

India's No.1 Hindi GEC Star Plus has retained its leadership position again. The channel has shown a momentum by achieving 311 GRPs compared to 292 GRPs of last week according to TAM's week 27 data. It's interesting to see that the No 2 Colors and No 3 Zee TV has both shown a decline in its GRPs. Colors has come down from 263 GRPs of last week to 253 GRPs and Zee TV lost 23 GRPs from last week and closed at 205 GRPs in week 27.

Looks like Sony Entertainment has finally got it right after a long time and the channel is showing a decent growth in GRPs. The channel has gained 23 GRPs and remained at 173 GRPs in week 27 whereas Imagine too has leaped to 107 GRPs gaining 25 GRPs over last week but this must be because of the grand finale of Ratan Ka Rishta.

The Top 10 list of shows for week 27 is dominated by Star Plus, Zee TV and Colors. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta has again topped the chart with 5.16 TVRs followed by Colors' Balika Vadhu (5.06), Star Plus' Saathiya (4.48), Colors' Uttaran (4.46) and Star Plus Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (4.36).

There is no major gainer in Channel share; most of the channels have shown a minor change in channel share over last week. The only noticeable change in channel share was spotted in Imagine where it almost gained 2% and remained at 8.1% which is predominantly because of the grand finale episode of its premium property, Ratan Ka Rishta.
