Vishnu Mohan joins Dept as CGO and Partner to lead expansion in APAC

Dept, an Amsterdam-based digital firm, plans to scale up to 1000 workers in the region by 2024, and Vishnu Mohan will lead an aggressive expansion strategy in the APAC region. Mohan joins Dept as a partner and chief growth officer after stepping down as Chairman and CEO of Havas Group Southeast Asia, India, and North Asia, in January after 25 years with the company. He will work closely with Dimi Albers, the company's global CEO.
Dept, which was founded in 2015, describes itself as a combination of a creative digital execution firm and a digital transformation agency. Google, Samsung, Mizuno, KFC, KLM, Twitch, Fujitsu, and Spotify are among the agency's clients, and it employs over 2,000 employees across 17 countries. Carlyle, a private equity firm, owns a majority stake in Dept. In the previous year, it acquired four agencies, including design and experience firm Basic and creative technology firm Byte. Mohan has been tasked with growing the APAC organisation to provide 10% of global revenues by 2024, in addition to scaling to 1000 people. The company aims to use Singapore as a base and establish a satellite team in Manila.
