She is a talented actress, a beautiful wife and a caring mother.  Actress Gurdeep Kohli who is known more for her successful stint as Dr Juhi in the hit series, Sanjivani that revolved around the lives of doctors and hospitals will soon be seen cooking up delicious and nutritious recipes for children in the 24-hour food channel ‘Zee Khana Khazana - Ab Khana Sawal Nahi, Lajawab Hai!’ Gurdeep Kohli will anchor a new show called Baccha Party that is especially conceptualized for young mothers who face a daily challenge of providing nutritious and delicious meals to their children.

To know more about her and her forthcoming show, Adgully caught up with Gurdeep Kohli, Actress for an exclusive interaction.

She is very excited about her new show and her role, she excitedly says, “This is a brand new show for me and I am really looking forward to the role. I am of a chef-cum-host and the audience will see me in a celebrity chef’s get up. I will be doing lots of cooking and experimentation with delicious recipes for kids, and mothers who always finds difficult to prepare meals for their children.” In every show Gurdeep will demonstrate recipes that can be easily made at home.

As she belongs to a Punjabi family, the one thing that has remained constant in her life is love for food. “I love cooking and it’s my hobby and it’s just now I got the chance to use it for my viewers,” says Gurdeep.

The role she played in Sanjivani remains her favourite role although. She says, “Its closest role to my heart as it had been the longest show for me in my television career and it has given me everything. Inspite of doing various other successful shows, people remember me as Dr. Juhi even today.”

At present she is doing an exciting role with Disney for their show, ‘Best of Luck Nicky,’ with which she’s been associated from quite a long period of time. She discussed, “it’s a surprising role that I am performing for this show, as with time we finished two seasons of this show successfully and we are shooting for third season now. I’ve never thought of taking up this role so seriously, it was an experimental role for me as prior to this I’ve done mainstream television which had loads of drama.”

She further added, “Though now I am relieved and relaxed with kind of work I am doing, I still missed the madness of daily soaps as I was associated with it.”

For Gurdeep motherhood is a top priority, she is not taking up any daily soaps as her daughter Mehr needs her. “My daughter Mehr is been very lucky for me as roles that I always wanted to perform as an actor are getting realised after her birth. I got my first film Rowdy Rathore, my first comedy show and got this chance of cooking on TV screen after her presence in my life.”

She wants to be a part of shows like Welcome, where she can have people coming over at her place to have food and she going to theirs to taste different meals. She’ll love to treat them and loves Chinese cuisine.

On asking about her favourite genre of shows, she says, “I personally love watching reality shows and I feel today people are tired watching shows based on similar concept everywhere and with reality shows they are getting to know their favourite actors in real, and that seems to be more interesting.”

She is ready to do films and discussions are on for few projects, she has high hopes from her upcoming show Baccha Party, “it’s great to be multi-faceted, because lots of people think that actresses can’t cook and I really want to prove this fact wrong by cooking well,” she concluded.

Her love towards food makes her the ideal host for Zee Khana Khazana's show Baccha Party; as in her, young mothers will find a perfect blend of chef and companion.
