WhiteHat Jr founder Karan Bajaj quits; Trupti Mukker to replace him

Karan Bajaj, Founder and CEO, WhiteHat Jr/ BYJU’s FutureSchool, has quit the company. His move comes exactly a year after BYJU’s acquired WhiteHat Jr in a $350-million deal. It is learnt that Trupti Mukker, Head of Customer Experience and Delivery, is slated to replace Bajaj as WhiteHat Jr’s CEO.

As per media reports, these developments were shared by Byju Raveendran, Founder, Byju’s, in an internal mail to his employees.

Media reports also stated that in a separate internal mail to the employees, Bajaj had expressed his desire to venture into the public service domain, as well as pursue his writing interests.

Prior to starting WhiteHat Jr, Bajaj was Head of Discovery Communications – India. He had joined Discovery India as Senior VP & GM South in October 2016. He quit the media organisation in September 2018.

Bajaj founded WhiteHat Jr in October 2018, which had its beta launch in India in January 2019, with the aim of teaching Coding – sequence, structure, logic, commands and algorithmic thinking – to school children. WhiteHat Jr is backed by Nexus, Omidyar and Owl Ventures.

This apart, Bajaj is also a fiction writer and has penned books like ‘The Grass’, ‘Johnny Gone Down’, and ‘The Seeker’, among others. He is also a yogi, backpacker, hiker, and known to enjoy diverse, solitary pursuits.
