Who pulls the trigger in 'Badlapur'?

Zee Cinema, the world’s biggest movie theatre for Hindi movies, will premiere the story of a family man who sets out to take revenge in the most talked about film in recent times, Badlapur.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Badlapur stars Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in roles that will be defined as one of their career’s best, the channel will premiere the most successful film of 2015 on Sunday, 8th November at 9 PM. The film is based on a real life incident and sheds light on how some individuals can go to any extent to inflict pain in the name of vengeance. The film’s narrative is unique and depicts the negative side of the ‘hero’ of the film and vice-versa.

Talking about his experience of working on the movie, Varun Dhawan said, “I had always wanted to do a thriller but I guess, no one thought that I could ever pull it off. Badlapur offered me the chance to experiment with the genre which I enjoy watching. Sriram is a mad genius who keeps looking to push the envelope and do something new. I am very lucky to have worked with a director like him so early in my career. And Nawaz bhai is a gifted actor and we bonded really well while promoting the film.”

Badlapur revolves around a young advertising professional, Raghu (Varun Dhawan) who loses his wife Misha (Yami Gautam) and his son during a bank robbery. Of the two robbers, Liak (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is caught and sentenced for several years but refuses to reveal the identity of his partner in crime, Harman (Vinay Pathak) who manages to escape. Raghu, shattered from the loss of his family, directs all his energy at getting back at both the culprits.

Praising Varun Dhawan's character of a man on a vengeful mission, his mentor Karan Johar had tweeted: "#Badlapur is absolutely stunning! @Varun_dvn made me so so proud! He is exceptional!!! And it's doesn't get better than nawaz!! Must watch!"
