YouTube adds new tools to detect copyright violations

YouTube is working on new options to protect copyright issues and detect them within the upload process, which will also block the user immediately.

This update will enable creators to select an option when reporting a copyright violation in order to 'Prevent copies of these videos appearing on YouTube going forward' in the detection/removal options.

YouTube also adds a new list of how many videos have been blocked from being uploaded due to the copyright claims.

That indeed can be helpful to protect IP and moreover to stop the creator from uploading a copy.

YouTube noted in their blogpost that the new update is being rolled out from today, but will be implemented in a staged process that will take a few months for full availability.
