YouTube launches new search insights for creators

YouTube has announced that all creators will soon have access to its new Search Insights feature, which will deliver a slew of new data points to help one to fine-tune their YouTube strategy based on what people are searching for in the app.
In November of last year, YouTube released an overview of Search Insights, which will feature data on what users are searching for in the app, both in regard to channel and content directly, as well as for more general search queries.
On desktop, Search Insights will be found under the 'Analytics'>'Research' section of YouTube Studio, and will provide information on the most popular topics among the viewers, as well as the overall search volume for each and the amount of traffic one’s channel has had as a result of each question.

For 'Content Gap' inquiries, which are search phrases that don't generate a lot of results, YouTube will display a marker. The idea is that by displaying these questions, content creators will be able to focus on developing content that fits with searches that are presently not being serviced by the videos available in the app, perhaps opening up new prospects for your efforts.
There's also a feature called 'Searches Across YouTube,' which shows the most popular search queries for any keyword. So, if one wants to discover what the most popular 'how to' searches on the platform are, they could just type 'how to' into the search box. It might be a useful tool for marketers, comparable to Google's Search Console and Google Trends, providing greater insight into what's driving YouTube channel traffic and how one can align their content efforts with these trends. YouTube states that the data used to power its search trends information will initially be limited to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and India. YouTube is trying to add more locations to the app in the near future, but even if one doesn't live in one of these countries, the data could indicate larger interest in the app.
Search Insights is available in the desktop version of the YouTube Studio software, which is now available to all users. That the full roll out will be completed by the end of April.
