Zarina Mehta bids adieu to Walt Disney India

Zarina Mehta, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder at UTV Group of Channels at Walt Disney India has put down her papers and is moving on from the company.

 

She communicated this news to her company employees through an internal mail informing them about her decision. With this decision she has ended her 27 year stint with the channel/company. She informed them that as much as it pains her to end this long association with them she feels the need to move on and accept other challenges in life. It is learnt that she intends joining SHARE (Society to Heal, Aid, Restore and Educate) as their Managing Trustee. This organization transforms millions of lives in the rural regions of Maharashtra.

 

She also said that taking this decision was not easy for her but it is a move required on her part to apply her mind and energy to other problems.

 

Zarina Mehta was earlier COO, Hungama,UTV, a kid’s channel which is now a Disney channel. The success of launching and creating TV Brands such a UTV Bindass, UTV Star and UTV Action can be attributed to her.

 

In February 2012 Disney acquired a controlling interest in UTV and thereby Disney was integrated into UTV operations.
