ABP News Sets the Battle Ground for General Elections 2019

ABP News organised its flagship conclave ‘Shikhar Sammelan’ in the capital on Monday, to deliberate how the top leaders of the country plan to ace the upcoming general elections. The programme was focused on the Indian political scenario as the country gears up for the General Elections 2019.

Shikhar Sammelan is a unique platform that deliberates on the fundamentally pertinent issues of sheer significance to the common man and provides an opportunity for both the ruling government and the opposition to debate on the opportunities, challenges and the way forward for the country.

The event commenced with Shri. Amit Shah (President of BJP) sharing his insights. The day witnessed the presence of other eminent personalities like Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Shri. Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union Minister), Shri. Nitin Gadkari (Minister of Road and Highways), Kapil Dev (Former Indian Cricketer), General Bikram Singh, Air Vice Marshal AY Tipnis, Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Member of Parliament) and Shri. Sambit Patra (Spokesperson BJP). The session was hosted by ABP’s star anchors - Sumit Awasthi, Rubika liyaquat, Romana Isar Khan, Anurag Muskaan and Neha Pant.

Key highlights of the session

  • Amit Shah (President of BJP) – Under the leadership of the BJP, the government has not faced any charges and has always taken swift action to retaliate like the recent surgical strike. Also, we have always worked towards improving the quality of life of people in the country and by 2022 every individual will own a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
  • Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev – The situation continues to remain tense between India and Pakistan but there is no choice other than retaliation in view of the nations interest. With China supporting Pakistan India should boycott goods imported from China.
  • Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union Minister) – After the Pulwama attack the mastermind was killed in less than 100 hours. Pakistan is isolated in the world and under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister the Kashmir issue is sure to get resolved.
  • (Retired)Air Vice Marshal AY Tipnis – Pakistan is aware that it cannot win a war against India and it is essential to take revenge for the recent Pulwama attacks. POK is rightfully India’s which should be given back to the country peacefully.
  • Kapil Dev (Former Indian Cricketer) – The Government should take a decision on playing against Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup. Rumours about me contesting elections for BJP are false as I am not keen on entering politics.
  • Sambit Patra (BJP Spokesperson) – It is alarming to see the Congress party talk like Pakistan. Despite living in the same country, we are not united. Honorable Prime Minister stayed back at the Corbett National Park due to rains and not because of any other agenda.
  • Pawan Kheda (Congress Spokesperson) – Under the congress leadership surgical strikes were carried out thrice. Prime Minister Modi has politicized the surgical strikes and criticized the 26/11 attacks. While the country was mourning the Pulwama attacks Prime Minister Modi was getting a photoshoot done in the Corbett National Park.

Mr. Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP News Network said, “Shikhar Sammelan has been a very impactful platform that has enjoyed stupendous viewership because of its interesting format, a testimony of ABP’s philosophy of pioneering the news genre with a motive of instilling #deshkorakheyaagey. According to BARC Data, during Bihar Shikhar Samelan, ABP News was leading with 21% market share for six hours. As India inches closer towards the General Elections 2019, we expect tremendous buzz to grip the nation and such invigorating sessions will continue to keep the curiosity alive amongst our viewers.”
