BARC ratings Wk 9: Star Plus stays firm at No. 1; DD up at fifth spot

BARC ratings for Week 9 (February 27-March 4) of 2016 saw Star Plus hold on to its numero uno position. DD National was a surprise gainer, climbing up to No. 5, the highest ranking that the channel has seen. The channel has been buoyed by the telecast of the Asia Cup matches.

As per BARC ratings for Week 9 (February 27-March 4) of 2016, Star Plus’ gross viewership registered a fall to 677,342 after witnessing gain in the previous week, where its gross viewership stood at 768,495.

Colors remained at No. 2. The channel, too, witnessed a fall in gross viewership – from 725,868 in Week 8 to 667,036 this week.

Continuing in the third spot, Zee TV saw a further dip in its gross viewership in Week 9 to 626,362 from 645,473 last week.

Zee Anmol was placed fourth in Week 9. The channel also registered a further fall in its gross viewership from 625,553 in Week 9 to 594,218 last week.

DD National re-entered the top 10 Hindi GEC list straight at No. 5 in Week 9. The channel garnered gross viewership of 509,504.

Sony Pal held on to the sixth position. The channel witnessed a rise in its gross viewership to 500,119 from 477,372 last week.

Star Utsav came down a notch to be placed at No. 7 in Week 9, witnessing a fall in its gross viewership from 492,907 in Week 8 to 486,353 this week.

Life OK, Rishtey and Sony SAB continued in the eighth, ninth and tenth spots.

Life OK, which had witnessed a fall in its gross viewership in Week 8 to 437,776, saw its gross viewership further slide to 435,372 this week.

Rishtey, on the other hand, saw a rise in its gross viewership to 410,192 in Week 9, compared to gross viewership of 372,527 in Week 8.

Sony SAB, too, saw a slight increase in its gross viewership to 384177 in Week 9 from 363,158 last week.

Sony Entertainment Television, which was placed tenth in Week 8, moved out of the top 10 Hindi GECs list this week.
