DNPA appoints Mariam Mammen Mathew as chairperson

Manorama Online, the digital division of Malayala Manorama's, CEO, Mariam Mammen Mathew has been appointed as DNPA (Digital News Publishers’ Association) chairperson for a duration of two years effective from April 1, 2024. She is taking the place of Tanmay Maheshwari, MD, Amar Ujala.  During the chairmanship of Maheshwari, Mariam Mammen Mathew was the vice-chairperson. At the annual meeting held recently, DNPA promoted her as chairperson. New officers were also appointed to the board of DNPA. 

Maheshwari said that being the DNPA Chairman for two  years, he was delighted to be contributing to the efforts of the standardization of the digital news media landscape in India. He also stated that he is self-assured that Mariam Mammen Mathew will be bringing meaningful insights to their shared objective. 

Mariam Mammen Mathew said that she feels honoured to be taking on the role of DNPA’s chairperson, further contributing to the digital media landscape of the country. She has said that her objective is the amplification of the influence, scale, permanence of digital news media organistions. 

DNPA’s new vice-chairman is Puneet Gupt, COO, Times Internet. Puneet Jain, CEO, Digital HT Media, will be continuing to be the treasurer.
DNPA represents 18 media organisations which include The Indian Express, Lokmat, ETV, Dainik Jagran, Hindustan Times, Malayala Manorama, Dainik Bhaskar, ABP Network, Zee Media, Mathrubhumi, The Hindu, India TV, Times Group, NDTV, Network 18.
