Driving response from the epic saga of Lord Ram, the Divya Bhaskar way

7 day Ramleela (enactment of epic saga Ramayan) organised by Divya Bhaskar, the leading Gujarati Daily of Dainik Bhaskar group drew an effusive response from the readers in Ahmedabad.

The theater style depiction of Ramayana was organized on AES Ground, Memnagar from 29th September to 5th October. The Epic begun with "Shravan Vadh" on day one and progressed through "Birth of Lord Rama and Sita and killing of Taraka", "Sita Swayamvar" , "Ram Vanvas" and finishing on the seventh day where Lord Rama is anointed the King "Raj Tilak", establishing the "Ram Rajya".

Ram Rajya is an ideal state, where there is freedom of expression, peace, justice, security, prosperity and equal opportunity. Today, when the values have apparently changed, the principles of Ramayana still hold good. It is always truth that prevails and at the end good wins. Divya Bhaskar brings to its readers a chance to witness and relate to the Ramleela in reference to modern times.

Dharmendra Mishra; State Business head, Divya Bhaskar throws light on the consumer insight "All seek an idealism where all is fair and turn to the ways of the world as it calls for. The core idealism when appealed to emanates responses of the purest form from all. With this insight Divya Bhaskar sought out to appeal the readers. Ramleela depicts the victory of good over evil, the saga of strength, courage and determination, which is revered even today. Appreciating this value system, we have organized Ramleela, which is an evergreen classic; the live theater format makes it even more tangible."

Mishra adds "Divya Bhaskar contineoulsy works towards being much more than just a newspaper, as we see our role as a larger social force. Hence manyan activity are organized which connect with the masses across social and religious barriers. Other than the Ramleela which had a tremendous response, another example is recently released coffee-table book "Shraddha Setu - Places of worship of Gujarat' a uniquely comprehensive and balanced profile of religious places of Gujarat. In addition inspired by Gujarat's rich past Divya Bhaskar has organized Dyaro and sheri garba to encourage and help revive these art forms.
