Adding yet another feather to its cap, Zee TV's most popular primetime drama that has consistently ruled the TRP roost in India, 'Pavitra Rishta' recently won a noted international accolade.

Pavitra Rishta is the first Indian show to be noticed and presented with an honor in Korea. Taking the heart-warming story of a middle-class Mahrashtrian family across national frontiers, Pavitra Rishta has been awarded the much coveted Jury's Special Prize at the recent Seoul International Drama Awards 2010 held at the famous KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) Hall in Seoul, South Korea. The award was received by Charu Singh, Deputy Vice President, Programming, Zee TV.

In its fifth year now, the awards ceremony was well attended by stalwarts from across the international television fraternity. The soiree was an august assembly of actors, producers, directors, script-writers and technicians of note from the US, UK, Canada, Japan & Malyasia. The ceremony presented awards across categories such as Best Single Drama, Best Mini Series, Best Actor & Actress, Best Writer, Best Director and the Jury's Special Prize in the international awards category.

Sukesh Motwani, Programming Head- Fiction, Zee TV, said, "The beauty of Pavitra Rishta lies in its simplcity. We were confident that the show would captivate the attention of audiences in India. But the honor at SDA comes as a delightful surprise! It goes a long way in establishing that a show with superior content cuts across barriers of language, culture and geography."

With an agenda of promoting a rich cultural exchange across the world, Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) announced its First Chapter in year 2006, felicitating the best international television dramas. With rapid growth in its stature, 146 television dramas from across 37 countries entered SDA last year.
