Ex-Railway Board Chief Anil Kumar Lahoti appointed as TRAI Chairman

The Government has appointed Anil Kumar Lahoti as the new Chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Lahoti is the former Chairman & CEO, Railway Board, Indian Railways.

In a statement issued, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, stated that the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved Lahoti’s appointment for a period of three years.

The post of TRAI Chairman has been lying vacant for nearly four months since PD Vaghela retired in September 2023.

A 1984 batch officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Lahoti has an illustrious career with vast experience in Railway management and administration.
