Facebook updates 'Transfer Your Information' Tool for better Data control

In order to make it easier for users to download the information that has been stored on them, and make it transferable, Facebook is making changes to its ‘Transfer Your Information’ tool.
"To provide people with choice and control over their data, we’ve spent the last few months rebuilding our data portability tool from the ground up. These updates include user experience improvements, two new destinations: Photobucket and Google Calendar, and one new data type: Facebook Events." clarified Facebook.
Facebook’s new and improved Transfer Your Information tool can be seen in the above images including an improved and Better User Interface, making it more easier to manage the data transfer options. Along with this it also added dedicated date range tools and other options to control our data transfers.

A Single Page graphic was also provided by Facebook explaining the improved process :

The Updated tool options to make an easier data handling of your facebook data, and make it transferable as per the users convenience which is also the Facebooks ongoing development of tools to meet the user data essentials.
Since 2019, Facebook has already integrated data portability to various platforms like Google Photos, Documents, Dropbox, Koofr, Blogger and Wordpress.
"Although some laws, such as the GDPR and CCPA, already guarantee the right to portability, we believe companies and people would benefit from additional guidance about what it means to put those rules into practice." Facebook mentioned.
The debate goes on regarding the data security and privacy, but with a better and broader perspective for the same increased, makes sense for there to be an industry standard around such sharing, along with managing the type of data and information, that each platform needs to make accessible to meet individual privacy requirements, which will make it easier to switch between platforms and understand the data that is being stored on that platform for them. It also gives them freedom to hold onto their digital information, rather than by specific app or company.
And leading in this direction, Facebook has already put pressure on other companies to bring up a similar portability process to help the free digital movement and transparency over data usage.
