Faye D'Souza launches new app 'Beatroot

Faye D'Souza, an independent journalist, has recently unveiled her news app called Beatroot News, which is now available for a limited number of downloads on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

During an Instagram Live session where she introduced her team, D'Souza provided insights into the reasoning behind the app's name. She emphasized that news should be seen as a vital source of information, comparable to a vegetable rather than a delicacy like Butter Chicken. D'Souza acknowledged that many young individuals avoid consuming news due to its toxic nature. With Beatroot News, her aim is to deliver news without the negativity and toxicity.

Faye D'Souza stepped down as the executive editor of Mirror Now in September 2019 and has since been sharing news on her social media page. She used to present a short news segment called 'Facts First with Faye' on Firework. With 1.6 million Instagram followers, she has a large following among young people. The news about the launch of Beatroot has been circulating for three years.
