Fernando Machado resigns from Burger King

Fernando Machado, CMO of Burger King is leaving the parent company Restaurant Brands International, without announcing his next move.

Machado joined Burger King as head of brand marketing in 2014 after 18 years at Unilever. He was named Burger King’s and Marketing Officer in 2017 and became the global CMO of the parent company Restaurant Brands International at the beginning of 2020. At Restaurant Brands International Company, he saw marketing for Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons.

Paloma Azulay, the Global CMO of the company Popeyes chain, will become the global Chief Brand Officer of Restaurant Brands International after Machado.

Machado, at Restaurant Brands International, has worked with a variety of agencies globally, including David, FCB, and Gut.
