Hormusji N Cama takes over as the new Vice Chairman of MRUC

Media Research Users Council announced the election of Hormusji N Cama as the new Vice Chairman. As on 7th March, 2011, Cama assumed the duties and responsibilities of Vice Chairman.

Cama, Director of Gujarati Daily, Bombay Samachar, has been on the Board of Governors, MRUC since 2007. Cama is the successor of Bharat Kapadia, Director of Lokmath, who resigned from this post due to personal reasons.

Currently on the Board of Directors of Press Trust of India, Cama has been actively involved with various publishing and industry organizations. He was also the former President of the Indian Newspaper Society.

Announcing the election Lloyd Mathias, Chairman, MRUC said, "Hormusji's vast experience and knowledge will be a great asset as MRUC continues its growth and benefits to media users. Despite being a reputed publisher Hormusji is keenly interested in the development of other media."

Media Research Users Council, publishers of the Indian Readership Survey, is a registered not-for-profit body of members drawn from major Advertisers, Advertising Agencies, Publishers, Broadcasters and Other Media.

Incorporated in 1994, MRCU now has nearly 200 members. It spans over 80 advertisers and agencies that include Hindustan Unilever, Dabur, P&G, Colgate, Hawkins, Wipro, Effem, Kotak and Group M, Lintas, Madison, RK Swamy, Triton, Spatial Access, respectively. MRUC also covers over 100 media companies which include Doordarshan, Star TV, Bennett Coleman, Hindustan Times, Jagran Group, ABP, Mathrubhumi, Gujarat Samachar just to name a few.
