Journalist Rajesh Mahapatra is new PTI editor

Press Trust of India has appointed journalist Rajesh Mahapatra as the editor. Mahapatra has worked in many different roles, such as political analyst, newsroom leader, business journalist, public policy expert, editor, etc. in a career which spans over 25 years. Previously, he has worked in different roles at the Hindustan Times. As the Chief Content Officer, he played an instrumental role in the evolution of the Hindustan Times to a digital-first news organisation. He is also the author of ‘Deep Cut,’ a Sunday weekly column in Hindustan Times, focusing on the convergence of India’s economy and politics. He is also the founder of Forum for Odisha Dialogues.
