Kokilaben Ambani to unveil the '60 Gujarati Power List' of Chitralekha Gujarati!

On completion of 60 years, Chitralekha Gujarati will release the first ever 60 Gujarati Power List, which will be an annual event henceforth. The supplement will be available with its 500 page Diamond Jubilee Issue that will be launched in Mumbai on 21st September by Smt. Kokilaben Ambani. This will be held in Mumbai with a performance by the Godfather of Jazz and Fusion in India, Louis Banks.

This Power List will include eminent Gujaratis from all walks of life like from the fields of politics, business, corporate, music, fine arts, cinema, sports, media and social service.

"This initiative leaves us with the responsibility to select and choose the candidates with care though it is a tough task. Gujaratis are one of the dominant communities globally. Our 60th anniversary issue is the apt time to bring out such a list. Also we complete the 60 years being on the top, across genres all throughout, which I think gives us the leadership to declare such a list," said Mitrajit Bhattacharya, the president and publisher of Chitralekha Group.

He also added that any list of this stature will comprise of 70 to 80 per cent of the obvious names. So 45 out of the 60 names in the list will not be surprising. The debate and discussions will be triggered mainly from the last 15 names.

The anniversary celebrations have already begun with performances by Pankaj Udhas,Kailash Kher, Parthiv Gohil and Bhoomi Trivedi of Indian Idol fame, staging of a new play, "Aa Family Fantastic Che", and special skits by the cast of "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" and "Khichdi - the movie" in Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surat and Baroda.

The anniversary issue includes history of six decades of Chitralekha and India, written by experts and eminent personalities which include stalwarts like L.K. Advani, Javed Akhtar, Mukesh Ambani, APJ Abdul Kalam, Vallabh Bhansali, Bakul Dholakia, Boria Majumdar, Sam Pitroda, Jairam Ramesh, Julio Ribeiro, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kapil Sibal, Jignesh Shah and many others.
