McCann bags 2 Gold Pencils and a Silver Pencil in One Show Awards

McCann Worldgroup, India has notched three pencils at the prestigious One Show Awards. Considered the ultimate achievement, the award, part of the Creative Week NY, celebrates the year’s best in creative advertising. MWG, India won two gold pencils and a silver pencil for Western Union Money Transfer as well as four additional Merit Awards.

Prasoon Joshi Executive Chairman, CEO and Chief Creative Officer McCann Worldgroup, India applauded the efforts of his team in striking metal at the prestigious international award show. “It’s never easy to win a One Show Pencil and that too a Gold. Western Union was the first to claim to be the fastest way to transfer money. But over the last few years, every money transfer service has been trying to claim the same. Western Union needed to once again own ‘fastest’ in the minds of its potential customers. These billboards and posters were placed en route to Western Union outlets that traditionally showed a lot of business, to convince potential customers that Western Union was indeed the fastest by giving them a live money transfer experience.

Rahul Mathew and Akshay Kapnadak ECDs, McCann Erickson say, “Western Union has not only been one of McCann Mumbai’s oldest clients, but also one of our more awarded ones. We are very excited at winning at the prestigious One Show for this brand.”

On a winning streak the campaign debuted at Cannes last year with a Gold and has picked up metals at almost every award show since. At the upcoming CLIO Awards 2013 the campaign has won a gold and a silver both in the Out of Home category. The overall metal count now stands at 13.
