McCann strengthens it's B'lore ops.!

McCann Worldgroup has made two new appointments at their Bangalore office. Vinod Lal Heera Eshwer  & Melvin Jacob  have joined  McCann Bangalore as Creative Directors effective 24th December 2012 .

Vinod Lal Heera Eshwer, an advertising copywriter earlier divided his advertising career between two offices of two agencies viz. Ogilvy & Meridian, Bangalore and Saatchi & Saatchi, Bangalore & Kuala Lumpur. His work has been awarded at all major international shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, LIAA, CA, Clio among others. His most rewarding pieces of work are the two books he wrote and illustrated for children about planting trees and harvesting rainwater.

He said "I love the freedom and openness here in McCann. It is totally refreshing and invigorating. I feel McCann has the perfect environment for nurturing ideas and producing work that works with the junta as well as the juries."

Melvin Jacob clocking over 15 years of agency time, started out at Chrysalis in Trivandrum, with stints at Maitri and David in Madras, TBWA Dubai, Ogilvy's Global Hub in Bangalore and most recently Lowe in Malaysia.

He is of the opinion that the awards rush has taken a lot away from everyday work that the client pays for. He believes that it's time this work got some love back. Outside of work he gets away to guitar riffs, comparative mythology, martial arts literature and beaches. This is what he had to say with regard to his appointment at McCann: "The pace of Indian advertising is immense and McCann Bangalore seems to be channeling that energy in South India. On paper, the brands and teams look interesting, so should be good to see what gives."
