MnM Talkies celebrates 100th case of award-winning podcast, ‘Bhaskar Bose’
Spotify Original podcast ‘Bhaskar Bose’, produced by MnM Talkies, is celebrating its 100th case this month. India’s first detective thriller, audio fiction show, released its 100th case on December 6, titled as ‘Raat Raani’. The award-winning show (Exchange4Media- Golden Mic Award 2022 and Impact Digital Influencer Awards) was launched in 2019, has completed a successful run of 3 years in December 2022.
Bhaskar Bose (played by actor-director Mantra), who is an accountant by profession and detective by passion, along with his partner Inspector Bikesh Das (played by Shadaab Hashmi) take the listeners to the world of crime and mysteries. From missing bodies at graveyards to murders on a film set, Bhaskar Bose and Bikesh solve each case in their inimitable style.
Bhaskar Bose’s fans see him as a hero who is always standing for the right. The 100th case, however, has put him in the spot. This time the tables have turned. ‘Raat Raani’, played by veteran actor Sandhya Mridul is the voice of those unheard victims Bhaskar chose not to hear. This case is an unexpected invitation, a challenge from a woman operating from the prison. Will Bhaskar rise up to Raat Raani’s challenge or will there be more blood on his hands? Talking about the show, Mantra, who plays the title role in the show shares, “100 Weeks. 100 Cases. 360 Episodes and over 7000 minutes of pure audio magic. Bhaskar is created by some of the finest writers and technicians I have worked with. Asif Syed and Obaidur Rehman who have written some of the most memorable characters in the series including Bhaskar and Bikesh Das. Shadaab Hashmi who not only plays the endearing Bikesh Das but is also the BGM composer of the series. Further speaking about the 100th case, Mantra adds, “The 100th Case of 'Raat Raani', is a binge series spread across December. A dark and mind-numbing case written by Nikhil Raj and Asif Syed. A revenge thriller surrounding a deadly female convict behind a high-profile prison. This character needed an actor par excellence who would leave the listener with a shiver down their spine. And we are thankful to Sandhya Mridul for bringing this character to life. Sandhya has always created fabulous characters and Raat Raani will be right up there in her filmography.”
