MTNL partners with Universal Software; launches "Missed Call Alert" service on fixed line network

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) launched the launch of “Missed Call Alert” service in association with value-added services provider M/s Universal Software Corporation (USA) on Fixed Line network for their Mumbai customers. The launch function held at The Taj President, Mumbai was graced by Mr. A.K. Garg, CMD , MTNL as Chief guest of honour.
 
This Missed Call Alert (MCA) service would be first Telecom VAS on MTNL Fixed line network where Missed calls information can be accessed on real time basis through SMS alerts on their registered mobile number“ Shri. A. K. Garg, CMD MTNL said in a statement.
 
Peeyush Agrawal (ED, MTNL, Mumbai) expressed that “This VAS would enlighten the customer experience on fixed line phone and home, office, business users can be equally benefitted. He announced the “free registration & usage of MCA service till 31st of May 2012 for MTNL fixed line users”.     
 
Akhilesh Trivedi, Vice President (Universal Software) added “this effort is going to be milestone in brining VAS revolution on fixed line network and assured to conceptualise many more innovative VAS shortly. The MCA service would accelerate revenues for operator and definitely proved to be a boon for telephone instrument industry to develop hi-end feature rich sets. Since fixed line network has better reach and penetration in rural segment, the VAS applications based on education, healthcare, banking etc can create value add for fixed line subscriber base.” he added. 
 
A vote of thanks was laid by Kishore Deshpande (President & CEO, Universal Software) to all delegates and guests. The show was delighted with presentation on laser beam show and attended by MTNL senior executives and dignities from BPCL, L&T, Air India, IIFL, IDBI, Indians Bank Association etc.
