News Just Arrived | Sakal brings Gaurish Pathare as Head Of Advertising Sales (Print)

Sakal newspaper the leading daily of Pune and the fastest growing daily of Maharashtra in IRS 2010 Q3 appoints Gaurish Pathare as its Head of advertising for its Print business. He will be in charge of National and local markets and will be reporting to L. S. Krishnan, Business Head for Print.

Gaurish comes from Midday Infomedia Ltd. where he was the National Head of Sales for Print and Digital businesses.

Gaurish is well known in the media industry and has spent over 16 years in the field of media. He is one of the rare professionals who gone through the full circle. From working in a media agency to a media company and to be a part of a large advertiser's media team, he has done it all.

He spent 8 years in Mindshare Fulcrum where he worked on Hindustan Unilever brands. Later, he moved to handle Group M's clients Onida, ICICI, Vodafone, HSBC, etc.

He has also worked in BCCL's Magazine division, where he handled brands like Femina and Filmfare.

From there he moved to Reliance ADAG's media team where he was one of the core members.

On joining Sakal Media, L. S. Krishnan says, "Gaurish is known in the media industry. We are delighted to have him in our team. I am sure he will use his varied experience and skill to achieve many milestones for us. He will lead our Sales team in National and Local market and be responsible for revenue growth for all the Print tittles."

Gaurish, on his new assignment, " I am excited to be a part of Sakal Media Group. Their brands set a high editorial standard and respected by the readers. I am looking forward to leverage that equity to deliver value to the advertisers and agencies and build a long term relationship with them."

It should be noted that Sakal Newspaper used innovation recently and the Pune edition went completely black and white for a day to announce its readers that the paper is turning all colour from tomorrow. This created a huge disruption and perhaps the first time a newspaper using such route to communicate its readers that the paper is turning completely colour.
