Perfetti Van Melle names Nikhil Sharma as new Managing Director for India

Perfetti Van Melle, an Italian confectionery brand, has appointed Nikhil Sharma as its new Managing Director for the India market. With his extensive experience within the Perfetti Van Melle group, including his most recent role as Managing Director of Perfetti Van Melle Vietnam, Sharma brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position.
Having joined Perfetti Van Melle as a Management trainee in 1999, Sharma has held various key positions within the company, primarily in Sales and Marketing. His progression to heading the Marketing function in 2012 and subsequently transitioning to General Management demonstrates his capability and leadership within the organisation.
Sharma's international experience, gained from leading Perfetti Van Melle operations in the Philippines and Vietnam, will undoubtedly be invaluable as he takes on the responsibility of managing the company's India business. His proven track record of success, highlighted by the launch of several impactful campaigns during his previous tenure in India, underscores his ability to drive growth and innovation in the market.
The successful campaigns, including "Alpenliebe Kajol & the Crocodile," the re-launch of Big Babol ads, the "Chlormint Salman Khan campaign of Dobara mat Poochna," and "Lollipops – Lagey Raho," reflect Sharma's strategic vision and marketing prowess.
Sharma's return to India coincides with the departure of Rajesh Ramakrishnan, the outgoing Managing Director, who has contributed to the company's growth over the past six years.
