Prakash Sankaranarayanan moves on from Vikatan

Prakash Sankaranarayanan moves on from Vikatan as Head - Business Development & Brand Marketing after a two year stint. He confirmed the news on his LinkedIn handle.

Speaking about his association with the company, Sankar said, "When I walked in, I was an executive handpicked for a well defined role, understanding the responsibilities & ability to deliver. As I walk out today, I feel this was like an on-the-job Executive MBA, which no premium institute could have offered. No marketing professor can offer a course where one gets to refresh almost a century old media brand with a lot of cultural significance & value shaping ethics, an insatiable aspiration to reach for the sky under an ambitious MD Srinivasan B, & drive the business development initiatives was a dream come true for a brand marketeer. The challenge was to establish solid business processes, integrate diverse business verticals, sharpen brand communication focus and reorient the engagement with advertisers to address their communication needs. I had built the marketing support group & brought in the best people."

Sankar has two decades of experience in marketing, brand management, and brand consulting. Before joining Vikatan, he was associated with Times Group (BCCL) for 12 years. His role at Times of India as Vertical Head and Chief Manager was to work closely with Pharma/OTC and FMCG clients/advertisers and their media/ad agencies for brand communication strategies and brand activation plans.
