Reliance launches JioBrowser with support for 8 regional languages

Reliance has launched JioBrowser on Google PlayStore adding to the collection of Jio apps for Android.

The JioBrowser has been developed with Indian users in mind. It is claimed to be lighter than its competitors, weighing just around 5MB. This will help consumers on low-end devices to be able to run it smoothly. The UI of the browser is minimalist and puts the focus on Jio's own content collection.

The homescreen of the JioBrowser will offer links to some of the top Indian content websites. The websites that are chosen for the homescreen offer a wide variety of content such as information related to cricket, travel, shopping, entertainment and more. The new section of the JioBrowser will also let consumers customise their news feed with a personalised choice of content source.

Additionally, the JioBrowser also supports up to eight Indian languages, making it one of the few browsers to be more accessible to people of different states and genres. The browser also supports other necessary features such as an Incognito mode and a special download manager. The user can also share news and videos from the browser with the friends. The browser also comes with inbuilt data saver features that save on the consumer's data plan as well as local device storage.

Presently, the browser is only available for download on Android phones. The JioBrowser will get more features in the coming months as well.
