Saavn Goes Beyond Music to Become Music+' Audio Streaming Platform

Following the first-annual Audio On Summit in Mumbai, Saavn, India’s leading music streaming app, has announced plans to expand beyond music-only audio content.  The company hosted Audio On last week  to launch the first event of its kind for which audio as a medium takes center stage. Media conglomerate GroupM and mobile marketing agency, Madhouse were knowledge partners for the summit, which attracted some of the best minds and voices from the media, marketing and advertising industry, including CVL Srinivas, South Asia CEO, GroupM; renowned radio personality and journalist, Neelesh Misra. etc. 

The event marks Saavn’s evolution from a music-only service, with plans to stream additional audio content, as well as create original audio programming. In addition to the launch of an audio-focused event series, one of the first examples of this expansion will be a sports commentary partnership with Ranbir Kapoor’s Mumbai City Football Club, an initiative for which details will be announced in the coming weeks.

With audio across all verticals poised to emerge as the number one content, media and advertising medium within the next year, Saavn conceptualized Audio On as an annual event to prompt high-level conversation on audio as the key component in the evolution of digital advertising. The event was limited to a select 100 individuals to facilitate a collaborative and open conversation.
