Sonata launches first 'Touch Screen' watch in India

Sonata, India’s largest selling watch brand from Titan Industries Limited, launched the first ever touch screen watch from India here today. The touch screen watch from Sonata is a benchmark in innovation for the Indian consumer and is expected to revolutionise the watch market by allowing consumers to interact with watches in a new and exciting way.
 
The Touch Screen Watch from Sonata – The Game changer in the watch category
The touch screen watch is a multifunction sports watch with a high water resistance up to 10 ATM and comes packed with features like light, stop-watch, multiple time display, day - date, alarm, and is available in three vibrant colors.
 
The touch screen technology is powered by a module built using an open capacitor solution with an integrated circuit driver. This module in combination with pre-programmed software enables the touch screen functionality and allows the consumer to interface directly with the watch through three distinct zones on the screen, doing away with the need for conventional push buttons on the watch.
 
Like all other Sonata Super Fibre watches, this watch is made with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and Polyurethane (PU) – materials known for their high durability. Each watch carries a one year warranty and the trust of the TATA Group Speaking at the launch, Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Industries Limited, added, “Sonata strongly believes this revolutionary product will script a new direction in the watch category by making this remarkable technology, earlier considered to be exclusive to high end watches, within the reach of the Indian consumer.  This will change the way consumers interact with watches forever.  To give this revolutionary product a boost, the company is launching this watch as part of Sonata’s biggest campaign for the year, featuring the Sonata Super Fibre Ocean Series of watches.”
 
Adding his thoughts on the breakthrough product, Noel Tata, Director on the board of Titan Industries Ltd said “This innovative launch comes in quick succession to the introduction of India’s most affordable watch at Rs. 225 earlier this year from Sonata and reaffirms the Tata group’s commitment to innovate and bring global products to India at an unbelievable price” The touch screen watch is part of the Super Fibre Ocean Series, a collection of 21 high water resistance watches (10 ATM) from Sonata. It is available in over 8,000 outlets across India at an introductory price point of Rs. 1,499.
