Sony raises the excitement bar with Maha Crorepati...!

Finally, the wait is over !  The most eagerly awaited property is back on Sony. Yes, it is Kaun Banega Crorepati that is making a comeback in a bigger and better format and is all set to woo audiences once again with its 7th season.

While Multi Screen Media is all set to showcase KBC 7, we see the channel promoting the most awaited show quite aggressively by  creating a buzz on all platforms possible.

The hype and excitement surrounding this reality show refuses to diminish with every season since audiences and especially enthusiastic participants with their ‘never say die attitude’ make the show worth watching.

This season we will be seeing the winner become a Maha crorepati with the jackpot winning prize increased to a whopping 7 crore! A new set, new elements and lifelines too will contribute to make the show different from the previous seasons.

The pilot episode of KBC 2013 will have Sonu Nigam starting the show by singing songs from Big B’s old movies.

Roads of many cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Baroda, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur are flooded 

with huge and small hoardings with so-day-to-day-but-unknown questions.

Apart from this heavy radio promotions are scheduled for September 6, 2013 when  3 radio stations, viz. Radio Mirchi, Radio City and Red FM, in Mumbai and Delhi will play KBC capsule one hour before the show from 7:30 – 8:30 pm. The one hour capsule comprises of station RJs (2 RJs – one from Delhi and the other from Mumbai) playing KBC with Bachchan and songs on the station with no commercials in this one hour capsule. The capsule will have Bachchan talking about this innovation that is happening for the first time in the history of radio and KBC. He will also direct listeners to Sony TV as soon as the capsule ends to tune in to the show.

Well, with so many teasers and buzz, the curiosity and excitement is at a high level. Giving the consumers more feel of the show, a game app has been designed which includes all the unique features of the show like Lifelines, the Hot seat and a lot more. Apart from making its presence felt on mobile, the team has created a KBC web game too. 

Looking at the growing acceptance of digital media and with such an awaited and premium property around, how can MSM stay behind in terms of reaching to their target audience. Of late several countdown hoardings and TVCs are seen.

Speaking to Adgully, Gaurav Seth Senior Vice President, Head-Marketing at Sony Entertainment Television shared how well the digital medium is being used for this particular season. He said, "Well, this time I would say we have used the medium quite optimally to give the feel  of  KBC to our viewers. We have certain apps and games on mobile and web respectively. A lot of buzz with respect to the show is seen on Facebook and Twitter too."

"Apart from digital we have done a lot of interesting activities on other mediums too be it OOH, television or radio. I think we have reached out to our audiences quite well."

He further adds, "With all the activities we have tried to bring the concept of 'Seekhna bandh to jeetna bandh' alive through the various mediums."

Through their site  www.kbcsony.com, consumers are given an opportunity to write to Bachchan or with the 'Insta hot seat app' which enables consumers to send their photo to Bachchan directly on the KBC sets etc. . “So we have initiated a lot of attractions and engaging activities for our consumers to make them feel the brand and make them tune-in to the show tonight,” said Seth.

In terms of expectations, he said, "The expectation is always to exceed what we had done last year. KBC is an iconic brand and people expect a lot out of it hence we design all the activities keeping that aspect in mind. We have an iconic host, Bachchan, with us who never tires of delivering the best to his audience. Also every season the consumer wants something unique and different, hence this time the prize money is a whopping 7 crore.  We also have new life lines, an amazing looking new set, new ‘man chaha padhavs’ and we believe with all this we will surely give out a product with which people will certainly  fall in love with."

It goes without saying that with ‘KBC’ and Bachchan being well-established brand names, the mobile application will help to create a huge TG base for the upcoming season of the show.
