Topping at Goafest a great achievement: Prasanth Kumar on Mindshare wins

“We are the only national awards that are not for profit, and we intend to keep making it better. Every professional in the country who has made a name for him/ herself is made of Abbys.” With these words, Raj Nayak, President of The Advertising Club, set the tone for the Abby Awards this year. Day One at Goafest 2017 ended in a full house, but the loudest cheers were reserved for the Media Abby 2017 winners

The top metal scorers this year are no stranger to winning at various awards platforms. Leading the list of Media Abby winners this year is Mindshare, which took home 10 metals, including 2 Golds, 5 Silvers and 3 Bronzes. Madison Media secured 8 wins, followed closely by Maxus with 7 wins. Two agencies based in South Asia also scored wins – Mindshare Bangladesh (1 Silver and 2 Bronze metals) and TBWASri Lanka (1 Bronze). A total of 53 awards were given away in Media Abbys this year. 

Mindshare bagged a Gold in the Best Use of an Integrated Campaign category for its work, titled ‘Nayi Soch’ for Star Plus. The second Gold for the agency was in the Best Use of Branded Content (online and offline media) category for its campaign for Dove, titled ‘Dove reframes the beauty debate in India’. 

Reacting to the good show put up by Mindshare at Goafest Abbys 2017, Prasanth Kumar, CEO, Mindshare South Asia, said, “Topping at Goafest is definitely a great achievement. Madison Media took home 5 Silver and 3 Bronze metals. The agency’s campaigns done for Nihar Shanti Amla, Saffola Life, Asian Paints Corporate, Saffola Active, and Tata Salt secured a Silver each.

Maxus won a Gold in the Best Use of Radio for its work done for Sonata ACT – When courage prevailed from 8 pm to 8 am. The agency’s tally also included 4 Silver and 2 Bronze metals.
