TV's Biggest Election for Zee Rishtey Awards 2016

Zee TV has a legacy of celebrating relationships for the last 25 glorious years and it has built a special one with its viewers through its annual property- 'Zee Rishtey Awards'. Held in Mumbai on 5th February, Zee TV’s prestigious annual property- Zee Rishtey Awards 2016 will be telecast on Sunday, 19th Feb at 7 PM. This mega event was a memorable evening where Zee TV’s most popular stars descended on a single platform and set the stage ablaze with their breath-taking performances! Also, to connect with audiences for the upcoming Zee Rishtey Awards, Zee TV went a step ahead. With the nominations being announced, a one of its kind ballot box voting was initiated for the first time on Indian television across 40 cities where viewers voted and their responses were physically collected within a span of seven days. Traversing the length and breadth of the country and taking the engagement quotient with viewers a notch higher, ZEE TV garnered a whopping 28 lakh votes from across the country.

Activities were conducted across the country in high- footfall areas which included Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Votes were also collected through physical forms and the results will be declared on-air on Sunday, 19th Feb at 7pm on Zee TV. To make these activities even more exciting and to engage maximum viewers, interesting contests were held across cities. Viewers got an opportunity to bag Zee TV gift hampers and a few lucky winners were invited to Mumbai to watch their favorite Zee TV stars LIVE on-ground at Zee Rishtey Awards 2016!

The response from these extensive activations has been overwhelming. Zee TV has broken all its previous records by collecting three times the votes that the channel had received last year. With an ever growing family, Zee truly believes in ‘Vasushaiva Kutumbakam- The World is Our Family’. The viewers’ support made the event a raging success and the who’s who of the television industry walked the Red Carpet and entertained us with their spectacular performances on chartbusting numbers strengthening their bonds with audiences.  

The awards ceremony was hosted by heartthrob Ritwik Dhanjani and stand-up comedian Bharti Singh. The duo had the audiences in splits throughout the award show with their spontaneity, witty one-liners, impeccable comic timing and their flair for taking hilarious potshots at just about anybody.
