TV this week: GECs see decline in GRP, IPL enjoys high TVR

According to the latest TAM data Star Plus is at number one spot with a Gross Rating Point (GRP) and Channel Share (CS) of 319 and 26.5% respectively. Moreover this week Star Plus's show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain is the number one show across all GECs with a TVR of 5.79% and has dislodged the long time reigned show Pavitra Rishta from Zee TV. The channel also has four more shows amongst the top 10 shows across channels which includes Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Sasural Genda Phool, Pratigya and Navya.

With GRP of 218 and a CS of 18.1% Colors is at the number two position this week. Moreover, this week too, Uttaran (TVR- 4.1%), Naa Aana Is Des Meri Laado (TVR 3.64%) and Balika Vadhu (TVR-3.44%)from Colors' wide offering are amongst the top 10 shows and placed at number 4, 8 and 9 respectively.

Zee TV is at number three again and this time with a GRP and CS of 197 and 16.4% respectively. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta with a TVR of 4.93% is the number three show across GECs and Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli is at number 6 with a TVR of 3.74%.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at number four this week has a GRP and CS of 146 and 12.2 respectively. None of the shows from the channel's offering has made it to the top 10 shows' list this week too.

SAB has retained its fifth position and has an increased GRP of 135 and a CS of 11.2% and Imagine is positioned at number seven with a GRP and CS of 68 and 5.6% respectively.

TAM Sports this week has reported that amongst the many Indian Premier League matches, the match between Mumbai Indians and Kochi Tuskers Kerala has garnered a TVR of 6.74%. It is an important point to note here that the TVR is much greater than the TVR any GEC show enjoys right now. While the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians got a TVR of 5.58%, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers Hyderabad gathered a TVR of 4.94%.
