TV this week: SET the only channel to gain in week 17

Cricket being the nation’s favourite sport, the IPLSeason7 has ultimately impacted the GECs in its second week of telecast. This week all channels except for Sony Entertainment Television registered a slump in viewership. SET this week with a gain of 53 million TVTs overtook SAB TV and has grabbed the 5th position on the GEC list. The double telecast of Umang 2014 telecast on Sony has helped it surge ahead. The 2pm airing fetched the show a rating of 2.7 TVM while the 5pm telecast fetched it 2.1 TVM. Star Plus continues to lead the flock despite a dip in viewership and has widened the gap with Zee TV  as indicated by viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 17, 2014 (April 20 – April 26 ) for CS 4+, HSM markets. 

Detailed below is the data of the GEC’s ratings for this week with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Star Plus at the top of the GEC chart witnessed a huge dip in viewership this week to record 743435 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 790776 million GVTs recorded last week.

Zee TV ratings too decreased this week but continues to be at 2nd spot and recorded 444500     million GVTs (last week 473025 GVTs).
Colors, is steadily losing viewership and remains at no. 3 this week.  With a drop in its ratings the channel recorded 423262 million GVTs as against last week’s 433237 million GVTs.
Life OK steady at no. 4 lost viewership as the channel registered 349580 million GVTs (last week 389214 million GVTs). A loss of 39 million TVTs was recorded by the channel

Sony Entertainment Television ratings picked and with a vast improvement recorded 297073 million GVTs (last week 244069 million).  The channel has bagged 5th spot and overtaken SAB TV .With maximum viewership the channel gained 53 million TVTs in week 17 of Tam 2014
SAB TV has plunged to 6th spot and registered a slump thus recording a score of 260127 million GVTs (265573 million GVTs).

Hindi Movie channels have recorded the following ratings in week 17:

Z Cinema recorded 203672 GVTs as against last week’s 217826 ; Sony Max registered a huge increase with 495922 GVTs (410312 GVTs) ; &pictures lost eyeballs as it recorded 85904 GVTs (93933 GVTs) ; Movies OK registered 123291 GVTs (144732 GVTs) and Movie PUT recorded 1272824 GVTs as against last week’s 1227177 GVTs

Star Plus
Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus scored 13301 TVTs this week (14531 TVTs). Saathiya Saath recorded 9503 TVTs (9934).  Epic series, Mahabharat garnered 7346 TVTs this week (7727 TVTs). Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fetched 7490 TVTs (7384 TVTs).  Saraswati Chandra garnered 5362 TVTs (last week 6217 TVTs). Veera clocked 6784 TVTs (last week 6729 TVTs) and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on the  channel fetched 6310  TVTs (last week 6219 TVTs).

Zee TV
Jodha Akbar ratings dipped this week as it recorded 9834 TVTs (last week 10470 TVTs). Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se recorded 4941 TVTs (last week 5258 TVTs). Sapne Suhane registered 5281 TVTs (6503 TVTs), Qubool Hai recorded 4588 TVTs (last week 5000 TVTs) and DID Li’lMasters 3 recorded  3906  TVTs this week as against last week’s score of 4477.

Colors
Reality show Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi seems to be losing eyeballs as it fetched 5752  TVTs in week 17 (7253 TVTs), Comedy Nights with Kapil recorded  6992 TVTs ( last week 8457 TVTs ), Beintehaa registered 3667  TVTs (3672 TVTs), Uttaran recorded 3485 TVTs (3515 TVTs ), Bani – Ishq Da Kalma recorded  2689 TVTs (last week 2835 TVTs) and Sasural Simar Ka registered 4445 TVTs ((last week 4377 TVTs)

Life OK
Tumhari Pakhi recorded 2585 TVTs (4082 TVTs), Ek Boond Ishq - 2324 TVTs (2784 TVTs), Savdhan India - 2153 TVTs (2797 TVTs) Adventures of Hatim – 2364 TVTs (last week 2353 TVTs) and Shapath - 2546  TVTs (last week 2998 TVTs)

Sony Entertainment Television
CID recorded 3757 TVTs (4060 TVTs), Maharana Veer Pratap – 2828 TVTs (2548 TVTs), Ek Nayi Pehchan- 1328 TVTs (1346 TVTs), Encounter –1653 TVTs (1630 TVTs) and Crime Patrol registered  2624  TVTs as against 2417 TVTs last week.

SAB TV
Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma lost viewership this week as it registered 6098 TVTs (last week  6476 TVTs), Chidiya Ghar – 2101 TVTs (2578 TVTs) and Lapataganj recorded  1453 TVTs (1574 TVTs) & Balveer recorded 2549 TVTs (2623 TVTs).
