VML India Names Babita Baruah as CEO Following Shams Jasani's Departure

According to sources, Shams Jasani, who served as the CEO of Wunderman Thompson South Asia Group, has recently departed.

The reins are set to be taken over by Babita Baruah, currently serving as the Executive Director at VMLYR and the Regional Client Lead at WPP.

The announcement of Baruah's appointment was made by Audrey Kuah, Co-CEO of VML in the Asia-Pacific region, during a townhall meeting earlier today. This leadership change follows the merger of Wunderman Thompson and VMLY&R into VML in October 2023. Shamsuddin Jasani had been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for South Asia by Wunderman Thompson in October 2021.
